Intense competition between charter and low-cost airlines keeps fares reasonable. The superb climate means flights are available all year round. Flights tend to be more expensive during the summer school holiday period. Many of the best deals are found in early spring and autumn. It is always worth booking as well in advance as possible.
Many of the best deals are found with low-cost airlines Ryanair and EasyJet. Ryanair currently operates routes from Birmingham, Bristol, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Glasgow Prestwick, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester, London Luton and London Stansted. EasyJet fly from London Gatwick and Liverpool. The availability of flights increases during the long summer season, when tour operators like Thomson and Thomas Cook provide charter flights from regional airports throughout the UK. You should also find good-value fares from Monarch, Jet2-com and Norwegian. Seasonal flights may begin as early as April or operate only in the peak summer months.
