GETTING TO THE AIRPORT

By Train

Fast trains stop at Parkway railway station. This is an excellent place to reach by public transport, with great train links to a multitude of major towns and cities. It can take you as little as 67 minutes to get from central London to Southampton parkway... impossible by road! The railways link you to plenty of key destinations throughout the south and into South Wales. Parkway is 8 minutes by train from Southampton Central station and just over an hour to London Waterloo: It only takes 10 minutes to get to Winchester. Bournemouth is under forty minutes away. It only takes 51 minutes to reach Salisbury. And Oxford is only an hour and a quarter away by train. There's also a brand new passenger footbridge to and from the station, which makes things even smoother!

Southampton train times and information can be obtained from National Rail Enquiries - www.nationalrail.co.uk/

By Bus

Buses are excellent, with services with two good local operators. Both connect the airport with the city centre. The journey time is around forty minutes, depending on the traffic. Uni-link runs the U1C bus between the airport, university, water front and city centre every quarter of an hour during the week, 20 minutes at weekends. There's even a high tech bus complete with WiFi!

Book Southampton bus and train tickets in advance to avoid queues.

By Car

Southampton Airport sits just outside the city. As you'd expect from a major airport it is signposted clearly from many miles around in all directions. Look for junction 5 of the M27 and you won't go far wrong. If you're approaching on the M3, come off at junction 14 and go east on the M27 towards Portsmouth, exiting at junction 5. If you're coming from Newbury or Oxford areas, hit the A34 then join the M3 at junction 9. The easiest way to get to Southampton airport by car from the city centre is to find the A335, which is clearly signposted as the airport road. If you're hooked up with SatNav, the postcode is SO18 2NL.

CAR PARKING

Car parks are modern, safe and secure. Motorcyclists park for free in dedicated bays situated in the short stay area. The short stay car park has been extended. There are an extra 300 parking spaces for passengers, all right next to the terminal. This is the best option if you’re planning to park for less than 24 hours. Otherwise, a few minutes away you’ll find the long stay car park. You can reach the long stay car park via a frequent courtesy bus that runs to and from the terminal forecourt. Bear in mind that you’re not allowed to wait outside the terminal building in your car for security reasons. If you’re picking people up or dropping off, you’ll need to use the short stay car park.

Airport parking comes complete with an extremely efficient transfer service. Five minute transfers to and from the terminal, extremely convenient if you’re short of time! It runs every ten minutes so you’ll never be stuck for transport. There’s tight security at Southampton Airport Parking and you’ll be reassured to see car park attendants in place 24/7. There’s even patrolling security officers and state of the art CCTV. So safe that it has won a coveted Secured Car Park Award!
