Paphos Airport Information

Paphos International Airport is brand new, refurbished and re-opened November 2008 along with its sister airport Limassol International. At both Airports, major upgrades have been carried out to the old passenger terminals and passenger facilities have been improved significantly. Retail and food outlets have been completely refurbished, departures and arrivals have been modernised and expanded, and the whole place given a fresh, new lease of life. Which is just as well… in 2007 Paphos International Airport attracted over 1.7 million passengers and it’s still growing. There’s even a particularly nice bar on the terrace that gives fab views of aircraft landing and taking off, for all you plane spotters!

 

The new-look Paphos International Airport features upgraded and new access and parking facilities. Located just nine miles east of Paphos city itself, it is the country's second largest airport after Larnaca International Airport. Paphos airport is popular with tourists taking their holidays in the west of the Island and is perfect for accessing the areas many popular beach resorts including Limassol, Coral Bay and lively, vibrant Paphos itself. These days passenger facilities at Paphos airport include a massive twenty check-in desks, five gates and fourteen stands for aircraft… it’s a very busy place! Tourists will also appreciate the bank, loads of clean friendly restaurants and cafes plus a great selection of bars. Obviously there’s the ubiquitous duty free shop stuffed with perfumes, jewellery, watches and low cost booze!  

If you’re on the lookout for last minute souvenirs there’s a cool gift shop at Paphos International Airport. And if you need to ask questions and find stuff out – either on your way in or your way out, head for the tourist information and help desk. Like everywhere on the island the people are extremely friendly and warm, and the English are always very welcome. Other facilities include a selection of household name car rental offices, a first aid station and somewhere to change your baby. The entire airport is well set up for disabled access and facilities for passengers with limited mobility are excellent. Last but not least there’s a foreign exchange office, cashpoint machines, post boxes for last minute postcards and public ‘phones that accept both coins and cards.
