Flybaboo - Regional airline based in Geneva
Flybaboo is a Swiss-based airline, operating scheduled and charter flights throughout Europe. The airline flies 2 planes to 15 destinations, and has bases at Geneva and Lugano airports. One of the major shareholders of Flybaboo is M1 Travel, a subsidiary of the M1 Group, a Geneva-based investment firm.
Flybaboo - Launched in 2003, offering scheduled and charter services
The company was launched in November 2003, by Julian Cook, the son of Neville Cook, the chairman of the Geneva branch of Anglo Irish Bank. Swiss Air had just announced that it was stopping its Geneva to Lugano route, and the new airline took over this route. Its first departure to Lugano was in November 200, with weekend flights from Geneva to Venice following later that month. The airline offers just one class of travel, with seats allocated on availability and the catering service on board provides free snacks. Flybaboo offers an option called a Baboo Abos, a free service which gives customer flexibility in terms of being able to change details up to 2 hours before departure. The airline also publishes an innovative guide to Geneva, a monthly magazine, which is published in French.
Flybaboo - Flying to destinations such as Ibiza, Naples, Nice and Rome
The airlines destinations include Biarritz, Florence, Ibiza, Lugano, Marseilles, Naples, Nice, St. Tropez, Venice and Rome. Flybaboo will soon add St. Petersburg, Kiev and Istanbul, with Agadir, Tangiers, Ajacio and Catane following shortly. The airline has a fleet of 2 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, with an average age of 2.4 years. Another aircraft, an Embraer 190, is due in the spring of 2008, with orders placed for 5 more.
