By Bus
Regular bus services from early morning until early evening, running between central Paphos and the bus parking area just outside the airport terminal. From Paphos airport, inexpensive (€1) urban bus number 612 heads through the resort area as far as the main waterside terminal in Káto Páfos almost hourly from 7am to midnight (much less frequent Nov–April). As accommodation is scattered over a wide area of the resort, it will be less hassle to have a pre-booked transfer or hire car awaiting you at the airport.

Paphos Airport is 15km from Paphos town centre and is signposted extremely well. It is 30 miles from Polis, 40 from the resorts at Limassol. The airport is easy to access from all over the island. The main B6 road is notorious for being horrible congested but plans are underway for a new four lane motorway that will link the airport to Paphos more efficiently. That should relegate the B6 main road and the equally congested E603 to local traffic and make driving to and from the airport a much easier task! Until then, take the B6 south east from Paphos, hit the E603 turning about seven miles in and follow the airport signs from there. Driving is on the left in Cyprus, as in Britain.
The airport has basic parking facilities that are more suitable for short term parking. They do offer long term parking but it’s more than likely that, as a tourist visitor rather than a local or a business visitor, you won’t need long term parking at this end anyway! There are around 150 short term parking spaces and your first twenty minutes of parking come free. The car park area is situated directly opposite the terminal entrance and there are a handful of spaces right at the front reserved for disabled travellers. The car parks are uncovered. leaving a vehicle in the hot sun long term inadvisable unless you really want the inside of your car There’s a new off-site car parking area which offers long term parking with 24/7 security. They throw in free shuttle services to the terminal, with a journey time of just 5 minutes… probably your best bet if you need to park long term.

Complete refurbishment finished in November 2008. A major upgrade has been carried out to the old passenger terminal and passenger facilities have been improved significantly. Retail and food outlets have been completely refurbished, departures and arrivals have been modernised and expanded, and the whole place given a fresh, new lease of life. There’s even a particularly nice bar on the terrace that gives fab views of aircraft landing and taking off, for all you plane spotters!
These days passenger facilities at Paphos airport include a massive twenty check-in desks, five gates and fourteen stands for aircraft… it’s a very busy place! Tourists will also appreciate the bank, loads of clean friendly restaurants and cafes plus a great selection of bars. Obviously there’s the ubiquitous duty free shop stuffed with perfumes, jewellery, watches and low cost booze! If you’re on the lookout for last minute souvenirs there’s a cool gift shop. And if you need to ask questions and find stuff out – either on your way in or your way out, head for the tourist information and help desk. Like everywhere on the island the people are extremely friendly and warm, and the English are always very welcome.
Other facilities include a selection of household name car rental offices, a first aid station and somewhere to change your baby. The entire airport is well set up for disabled access and facilities for passengers with limited mobility are excellent. Last but not least there’s a foreign exchange office, cashpoint machines, post boxes for last minute postcards and public ‘phones that accept both coins and cards.
