Few airports in Spain can rival Murcia when it comes to low fares from the UK. Murcia is the key entry airport for UK holidaymakers heading for resorts on the Costa Blanca. Intense competition between charter and low-cost airlines means some of the lowest airfares to Spain. The superb climate of Mediterranean Spain means flights are available all year round. Winter flights serve a large resident UK community. Flights tend to be more expensive during the summer school holiday period. Many of the best deals are found in early spring and autumn. It is always worth booking as well in advance as possible.
The availability of flights increases during the long summer season, when budget airline Jet2.com operates flights from regional airports throughout the UK. Many of these routes are seasonal. These may begin as early as April or May. Others operate only in the peak summer months.
Many of the best deals are found with low-cost airlines Ryanair and EasyJet. Murcia is particularly well served by Ryanair, with routes from Birmingham, Bournemouth, East Midlands, Glasgow Prestwick, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester London Luton and London Stansted. EasyJet fly from Bristol, and London Gatwick. The summer season sees a wider choice of routes. Jet2.com fly from smaller airports like Newcastle and Blackpool.

Public transport from the airport is disappointingly poor.
Latbus line 73 runs fairly infrequently to Murcia city centre. The journey takes 45 minutes and costs €7.00. A twice daily bus connects the airport with Santiago de la Ribera, which has onward connections to Campoamor, Cartagena, Murcia and Alicante.
