There are direct trains from Birmingham and London. Trains from London take about 3 hours. Manchester Piccadilly has excellent mainline train links nationwide.

Bus

Driving is straightforward, with easy access from the M56 motorway. Manchester Airport is just 20 minutes drive from Manchester city centre. If you are using a satellite navigation system, the postcode is M90 1QX. If you are driving friends or relatives use the drop-off areas outside the terminals. If you are picking up, you must park in the short stay car parks. Detailed information regarding road works and traffic conditions is available from the AA.

CAR PARKING

Prices vary according to type of car park and length of stay. Short-stay parking is the nearest to the terminals and is recommended for stays of up to 5 hours. There is a short-stay car park for each terminal. Short stay car parks are just a few minutes from check-in. No waiting is allowed on the roads surrounding the airport so you must use short stay parking for dropping off or picking up passengers. The Manchester Airport website provides up-to-date information on road works, potential delays and full details of parking prices. If you are relying on a satellite navigation device, the postcode is M90 1QX.

Long stay car parks serve Terminals 1 & 3, and Terminal 2. A free shuttle bus runs to the terminals if you do not wish to walk. Some customers choose the Manchester Meet and Greet valet parking service. With valet parking you simply drive to the terminal and your car will be parked for you. All car parks are of a high standard and well-supervised. The cheapest parking is normally found by booking well in advance.

Some of the cheapest parking offers are found at hotels, B&B and off-site car parks in the vicinity. Prices for “unofficial” car parks offer good value and usually depend on the distance from the airport. Most arrange transfers to the terminals.
