Lubeck Flights

Lubeck Airport (LBC)

Lübeck Blankensee Airport is a small regional airport located 9km from Lubeck and 65km from Hamburg. Flights from the UK with Ryanair considerably raised the profile of a city that previously received few British visitors. Ryanair marketed the airport as Hamburg Lübeck, despite the airport being some 65km from Hamburg. Ryanair started flights from London Stansted in 2000 but have since cancelled the route. It remains to be seen if the airport will attract UK airlines in the future. The airport has since experienced a marked decline in traffic despite expansion plans.

This is a very quiet airport used by half a dozen airlines. Arriving and departing is a relaxed experience. Moving on from the airport is fast and hassle free. There are good transport connections to Lubeck city centre. There is a single snack bar/restaurant and a couple of shops.
