Klagenfurt Flights

Klagenfurt Airport (KLU)

Klagenfurt is a small airport, just 3km from the romantic capital of the southern Austrian state of Carinthia. Flights with Ryanair have considerably raised the profile of this romantic regional capital with its superbly restored Renaissance buildings and charming Italian-influenced arcaded squares and courtyards. The city is just 4km from Lake Wörthersee, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with fine castles and churches. Klagenfurt Airport is ideally placed for Austrian walking trails and spectacular mountain scenery bordering Italy and Slovenia. The airport is an easy 3km bus trip from Klagenfurt city centre. Traveling to Klagenfurt is a relaxed experience as this tiny airport receives very few flights. There is a café, a restaurant and a couple of shops for basic travel necessities.

Routes

Klagenfurt Airport receives far fewer flights than Vienna and the ski holiday airports of Salzburg and Innsbruck. Low-cost airline Ryanair fly direct to Klagenfurt from London Stansted. You may find indirect flights with airlines like KLM, British Airways, Austrian Airlines and Germanwings, but these will almost certainly be a good deal more expensive than flights with Ryanair.
