GETTING TO THE AIRPORT

Train

Kent International is easy to reach by train from all over the UK. South Eastern runs regular services between Ramsgate and London Victoria railway stations, and between Ramsgate and London Charing Cross. This’ll take you around two hours depending which service you choose. It’s worth considering that you won’t get stuck in traffic if you take the train! You can get ‘real time’ and general train timetable information from the National Rail Enquiry Line – just call 08457 48 49 50 or visit their website. From the station, you can catch a local taxi to the airport, a journey of around ten minutes. Book your train journey in advance and you’ll find you can save up to half on the fare – buying your tickets on the day can be very expensive.

Bus

The airport has good bus connections, with local bus company Eastonways operating an efficient regular service between the airport and Ramsgate. Look out for bus numbers 38A and 38B. You can get in touch with Eastonways direct on 01843 588 944, visit their website or download the bus timetable via the Kent International Airport website ‘getting here’ page.

Driving

Kent International has fast, easy motorway and dual carriageway access, and they’re proud of their reputation for cutting total journey time compared to London’s major airports. The airport is easy to reach by car. Take the B2050 and you’ll drive straight to the passenger terminal entrance. The B2050 is just two miles from Ramsgate, on the Thanet Peninsula. If you’re driving from London, head south east on the A2 via the Blackwall Tunnel, towards Eltham. Travellers approaching via the M25 should come off at Junction 2 where the A2 changes into the M2. Leave the M2 at Junction 7 near Faversham and follow the A299 to the Mount Pleasant roundabout and follow the signs from there. Consult the AA Route Planner for detailed directions.

CAR PARKING

The airport has some of the best value airport car parking in the UK! If you’re planning to be away for two weeks, you can save a considerable amount of money if you fly from Kent International rather than a major London airport. If you hang around for fifteen minutes or less parking is completely free.

Car parks are situated right outside the passenger terminal. The entrance to the passenger terminal is well marked, situated right on the B2050 just a mile from the village of Manston (after which the airport was originally named) and only a couple of miles west of the nearest large town, Ramsgate. The car park is fenced all round for safety and there’s 24 hour security provided on site.

AIRPORT AMENITIES

The airport’s check-in facilities are fast and convenient. The airport has a couple of clean, comfortable cafes, one just inside the terminal and the other actually in the departure lounge itself. So you can relax and wait for your flight with a hot or cold drink, the day’s newspapers and a tasty snack, whatever the time of day. There’s also a friendly, fully licensed bar. A travel shop caters for all your travelling needs and sells a wide range of perfumes, sweets, watches, sunglasses and beach wear.

The airport’s Terminal is well equipped with six state of the art check-in stations. The departure lounge has recently been modernised and refurbished to create a calm, comfortable space to wait to board your flight. The airport has good facilities and services available for disabled passengers. And last but not least, Kent International’s arrivals hall features a new, modern baggage delivery carousel!
