Kefalonia Flights

Kefalonia Airport (EFL)

Kefalonia Airport is the entry point for holiday destinations on the Greek island of Kefalonia. The airport is just 9km from the island capital Argostoli, and a short transfer from popular resorts like Lassi and Lixouri. The number of routes from the UK has increased significantly in recent years but there are still far fewer flights than to larger Greek islands like Corfu and Crete.

The availability of flights hugely increases during the exceptionally long summer season, when tour operators like Thomson and Monarch provide charter flights from regional airports throughout the UK. Many of the best deals are found in early spring and late summer when the weather remains warm and sunny. Seasonal routes often begin in April or May and end in October. Low-cost airline EasyJet also fly to Kefalonia. These are also seasonal, starting in April. If flights are not available you should be able to find an onward flight from Athens.

The summer season sees an excellent choice of routes. Thomson Airways operate routes regional airports like Cardiff, Birmingham and Bristol. Monarch fly from Gatwick and Manchester. Easyjet is often the cheapest option. EasyJet currently operate flights from London Gatwick between April and mid-October.

Finding direct flights in the winter season is problematic if not impossible. Winter visitors to the island have to rely on local ferry services or fly via Athens.
