Hamburg Airport (HAM)

Hamburg Airport is the 5th busiest airport in Germany. The airport is 9km from Hamburg, a hugely enjoyable city that now rivals better-known short break destinations like Munich and Berlin. This is a large efficient airport with two terminal buildings and a good selection of shops, cafés and restaurants. Moving on from the airport is fast and hassle free. There are especially good transport connections to Hamburg city centre.

The city has received an influx of British visors in recent years thanks to economical fares with low-cost airline EasyJet. They currently operate flights from London, Manchester and Edinburgh. The airport is also an important hub for low-cost carrier TUIfly, who may also operate direct flights from the UK. You might also find flights with Lufthansa Regional. Regular flights depart from Heathrow with British Airways and Lufthansa but these will usually be a good deal more expensive than flights with EasyJet.
