GETTING TO THE AIRPORT

Train

Getting to the airport by train is fast and convenient as the airport has its own railway station: Glasgow Prestwick Airport. The airport terminal is a short walk from the station. Trains connect Glasgow Prestwick Airport with Glasgow Central train station every 30 minutes (hourly on Sundays). Trains take 50 minutes. Trains run from 06.00 (09.00 Sundays) until 00.15 (Saturdays 23.30; Sundays23.00). Trains also run to Ayr, the Ayr Coast, Stranraer, Kilmarnock and Newcastle. Bus

Regular bus services run to Glasgow city centre. The X77 Stagecoach Western Express service runs to the city centre every 30 minutes (hourly off peak). Buses take about 50 minutes. Buses depart from Buchanan Bus Station. The X99/X100 airport express bus provides a night service from Glasgow and Edinburgh. National Express services run to towns and cities in the region.

Driving

The airport is 32 miles from Glasgow city centre. Glasgow Prestwick is easily accessed from the M77/A77. It will take about 30 minutes to drive. If you are using a satellite navigation system, the postcode is KA9 2PL. Cars can drop off and pick up passengers at the car park nearest the terminal building or the new drop off area. Information regarding road works and traffic conditions is available from the AA. Taxis are black cabs. Airport taxis can be pre-booked.

CAR PARKING

If you are dropping off or picking up friends and family you can use the Terminal Pickup & Drop Off or the Express Pick Up & Drop Off area. Cars park for free for 5 minutes in the short stay car park. Short stay parking is a very short walk from the terminal. Short stay parking is designed for drop offs and picks or those requiring maximum convenience for the terminal. The Mid-to-Long Stay car park is a 4 minute walk from the terminal via the train station. The id-to-Long stay car park is designed for stays of up to 3 days. The cheapest parking is Airport North Long Stay. A free bus runs from the long stay car park to the airport terminal. Pre-booking parking will often secure discount prices. Special prices are sometimes available for weekends or parking midweek to midweek.

Prices depend on the type of car park and length of stay. Some of the cheapest parking is at hotels and off-site car parks in the vicinity.
