GETTING TO THE AIRPORT

Situated on the east coast of this beautiful island, Fuerteventura Airport enjoys a fine location with a variety of transport options wherever you are heading to begin your island paradise holiday. There are no trains on the island; however it's convenient to get around by bus or by car. Find a taxi at the taxi rank in front of the airport terminal.

Bus

. There are two bus routes to get you to your resort quickly and easily. Cost effective and regular, look out for the number 3 bus heading between the capital Puerto del Rosario to the airport and beyond to Caleta de Fuste. This bus runs every hour taking passengers and their luggage to the capital and down the south coast. The Number 10 bus leaves three times a day from the airport to Calete de Fuste/ Gran Tarajal/Costa Calma. You can find bus time tables at the airport information desk.

Driving

Situated just 3 miles south of the island's capital, Puerto del Rosario, the airport is a breeze to get to if you are driving. Alicante airport is situated right on the east coast of the island, so simply follow the FV-2 road south along the coastline until you reach the airport. If you are heading to the airport from the south, head up this same road (the FV-2) until you reach the airport. You will find car parks situated at the front of the airport, with plenty of places to leave your car

CAR PARKING

The car park is large and has 400 short term spaces and 500 long term spaces. It also has space for 90 buses so you will be able to find the perfect space for you. The car park is situated in a prime position, directly opposite the terminal building and you will find the pick-up and drop off area convenient located right outside the main entrance of the terminal building. Parking is free for the first 30 minutes.

You can park for free for up to half an hour, perfect for dropping off or picking up a passenger. From half an hour to an hour you can expect to be charged a nominal fee, and daily rates for up to 4 days parking are only around 8 Euros. Anything over 5 days and you can expect to pay 6.50 Euros a day. You can pay for your parking at one of the four pay machines situated at several handy locations throughout the terminal. All pay machines accept notes and coins and there is also a manual pay point which accepts credit cards. After you have paid you will have 15 minutes to leave the car park

 

AIRPORT AMENITIES

There is no shortage of shops where you can pick up last minute duty free alcohol, cigarettes and cosmetics or stock up on travel essentials at your leisure. Keep up to date with the news back home, you will find UK newspapers and publications as well as magazines and books. You will find two ATM machines at the airport. Baggage trolleys are available, but remember to take a 1 Euro coin as this is needed to unlock your trolley. If you need help or have any questions, look out for one of the six handy information desks which are located around the airport.

If you are travelling for business or feel like a little luxury, you can always take advantage of the VIP area situated in Departures. Disabled travellers are well catered for, with wheelchair ramps, disabled bathrooms and disabled parking spaces.
