Cologne Airport (CGN)

Cologne Bonn Airport is the 6th busiest airport in Germany. The airport is 16km from Cologne, an enjoyable city that is starting to rival better-known short break destinations like Munich and Frankfurt. The airport is a useful entry point for cruise holidays on the River Rhine. Daily flights with EasyJet also provide an economical way to reach the former West German capital of Bonn.

The region has received an influx of British visors in recent years thanks to direct flights from London Gatwick with EasyJet. The low-cost airline began flights in 2003.The airport is also an important hub for low-cost carriers Germanwings and TUIfly, both of which offer flights from the UK. Germanwings operate routes from Edinburgh, Manchester, London Stansted and London Heathrow. TUIfly flights depart from Stansted, Heathrow and Manchester. Arriving and departing is a relaxed experience and moving on from the airport is fast and hassle free. There are especially good transport connections to Cologne. The airport has a good collection of shops, cafés and restaurants.
