Paris Beauvais is a small regional airport located about fifty miles to the north of Paris. Built in the 1930s, the airport is popular with budget airlines. Although not as well equipped as the larger Paris Charles de Gaulle or Orly, Paris Beauvais offers a great-value way to visit the French capital. The airport largely handles low cost flights.
Paris airports are not especially well served by low-cost airlines due to competition from Eurostar rail services. The cheapest deals are often only available from airports in the north of England and Scotland.
Direct flights from the UK are only available from Ryanair. 2012 saw Ryanair operating flights from Glasgow Prestwick, Edinburgh and Manchester.
