Asturias Flights

Asturias Airport (OVD)

Direct flights have attracted increasing numbers of visitors to the most scenic region of northern Spain. Asturias airport is perfectly located for enjoying the best of this idiosyncratic and fabulously picturesque Spanish principality. The airport is 14km from Aviles, 40km from Gijon and 47km from Oviedo. To the east is the Picos de Europa National Park. This is a small airport with a very relaxed atmosphere. Arrivals and departures are fast and hassle-free. There are a few shops, a restaurant and three café/snack bars.

Low-cost airline EasyJet has flown direct to Asturias from London Stansted for a number of years. Frequency of flights has gone down in the last couple of years but they still remain the only economical way into this scenic area of Spain.

Flights from UK regional airports will almost certainly be indirect. It may be cheaper to fly to Madrid or Barcelona first. Flights to northern Spain also head for Bilbao, Santander, Valladolid and Santiago de Compostela. Note that Asturias airport is often advertised as Oviedo Airport.
