GETTING TO THE AIRPORT

Bus

You can get a bus to and from almost anywhere on the island and the airport is no exception. Bus is probably the best and lowest cost option for exploring Zante. There are frequent services from the main resorts and it's a smashing way to experience the island without having to concentrate on driving on the wrong side of the road! You'll get a real local flavour by travelling with the islanders. The main bus station is in Zakynthos Town on Mothonaio Street. You can buy tickets there, explore timetables, have a meal or snack. You can buy local tickets on the bus itself as well as at the station. And there are regular buses to the mainland tourist cities of Patras, Athens and Thessaloniki as well as the airport.

Driving

The airport is less than a mile from the popular resort of Laganas and less than four miles from the capital, Zakynthos town. It's a small island and there's only one airport. So you'll find it easy to get to and from the airport by car if needs be.

CAR PARKING

There's very limited long and short car parking. The island is tiny, the airport is small and buses tend to be the most popular way to get around. If you really want or need a space you should be lucky. There's a good choice of car hire facilities on the island and most people just want somewhere sensible to pick up and drop off.

You can't miss the parking lots, they're right near the terminal building. We'd love to give you an idea of the price of parking at Zante airport. But the official website doesn't publish Zante airport parking charges. And nor does anyone else. So Zante airport parking costs remain shrouded in mystery! If you really need to know, ringing the airport direct is probably your best bet.

AIRPORT AMENITIES

There's a lovely, spacious arrivals and departures area and getting through and out the other end is much faster than it used to be. The new arrivals and departures areas are clean and smart, with full air conditioning, a nice snack bar and a well-stocked duty free shop.
