SHARM EL SHEIKH AIRPORT (SSH) – FLIGHT INFORMATION

Sharm El Sheikh International Airport is the gateway to popular Red Sea beach resorts like Nabq Bay, Coral Beach, Ras Um Sid and Naama Bay. The majority of resorts in Sharm are very easily accessible from the airport, with journey times taking no longer than 30 minutes. The exception is Dahab, which is located further down the coast outside of Sharm city, and takes around an hour to reach in a taxi.

The airport is an attractive building designed to look like a Bedouin tent. You’ll find two terminals here, with a third under construction due to be completed by the end of 2012. The majority of UK flights will fly into the main Terminal 1. A wide selection of duty-free and luxury goods shops, bars and restaurants service the Arrivals and Departures halls, and you’ll also find cash points and currency exchange facilities.

You can fly from Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh and all the main London airports. Charter airlines like Thomas Cook fly from small regional airports like Cardiff and Bournemouth. Charter flights peak in the summer. Flight time from the UK to the airport is around 5 hours, depending on your departure airport. all year round thanks to the superb sunny climate. The best deals are usually found outside the main school holiday times.

Flights with low-cost airline EasyJet are often the cheapest option. EasyJet fly from Manchester, London Stansted, London Gatwick and London Luton. You will also find good-value fares from Monarch, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways.
