Kos Island International Airport is the entry point for holiday destinations on the Greek island of Kos. The airport is just 26km the island capital Kos Town, and a short transfer from popular resorts like Kardamena.
Direct flights are only available during the long beach holiday season, when tour operators like Thomson, Thomas Cook and Monarch provide charter flights from airports throughout the UK. Many of the best deals are found in early spring and late summer when the weather remains warm and sunny. Seasonal routes often begin in April and end in October. Low-cost airline EasyJet also fly to Kos. These are also seasonal, starting in late March.
The summer season sees Thomson operating routes from regional airports like Cardiff and Doncaster Sheffield. Monarch fly from Gatwick and Manchester. Reasonably priced fares are also available from airlines flying from London Heathrow and London City Airport. These usually include Aegean Airlines, Olympic, Swiss and Air Berlin. Easyjet is often the cheapest option. EasyJet currently operate flights from London Gatwick between the end of March and mid-September. If flights are not available you should be able to find an onward flight from Athens.
The best deals are almost always from London Gatwick. Flying from regional airports can considerably increase the cost of the flight. Routes from airports outside London are usually indirect. Finding direct flights in the winter season is problematic if not impossible. Winter visitors to the island have to rely on local ferry services or fly via Athens.
