Copenhagen Airport Roskilde is located 8km from Roskilde, between the towns of Tune and Gadstrup. It was opened in 1973 and was planned to relieve pressure on the main Copenhagen Kastrup Airport. The airport has attracted business flights but very few low-cost or charter flights. Roskilde airport is a 35km from Copenhagen and 78km from Malmo. Roskilde is a 30 minute drive from Copenhagen.
Ryanair considered a route from London Stansted but eventually chose to fly to Copenhagen and Malmo in Sweden.

There is a very limited bus service linking the airport with Roskilde. A few direct buses a day on weekdays.
Roskilde has excellent train connections with towns and cities throughout Denmark. Up to 6 trains an hour to Copenhagen. The journey time is 20-30 minutes
Most incoming passengers take a taxi into Roskilde. The fare is approximately 180-200 DKK
