China Flights


The number of flights to China increases every year. The cheapest flights from the UK head for Beijing Capital Airport. Good deals are usually available from British Airways and Alitalia. Flights are often indirect. The cheapest direct flights are usually to Shanghai Pudong Airport with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

Airlines offering the best deals on indirect flights also include Finnair, Asiana Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Qatar Airways, China Eastern, Virgin Atlantic, KLM, Air France and Singapore Airlines.

Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)

Beijing Capital is the main airport for Beijing and is the busiest airport in Asia. The airport is 30km from the city centre. Incredibly vast Terminal 3 was built for the Olympic Games in 2008. Trains and buses connect the airport with the city centre.


Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA)

The main domestic airport serving Shanghai but still receiving some international flights. Closer to Shanghai city centre than Pudong Airport. Indirect flights are available from regional airports throughout the UK. The best deals are often from Glasgow International, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Manchester and Heathrow. Fares are higher than routes to Shanghai Pudong. Airlines offering indirect flights include KLM, Flybe, Air China, China Southern and Cathay Pacific.


Other Airports

China has a vast number of airports, most of which can be reached by indirect flights from the UK. Among the cheapest destinations are Chongqing, Nanking, Fuzhou, Qingdao, Hangzhou and Xiamen.
