Biarritz Airport (BZR)

Biarritz – Anglet – Bayonne Airport (BIQ) is a convenient gateway to France’s stunning Atlantic coastline. Biarritz is a characterful short break destination, and is just along the coast from the attractive town of Bayonne. Biarritz Airport is also useful for visiting the scenic French Basque region and the attractive Spanish city of San Sebastian.

The airport is just 5km from Biarritz. This is a small regional airport with a couple of bars and a snack bar/restaurant. Arrivals and departures are fast and hassle-free.

Flights with low-cost airlines Easyjet and Ryanair have brought the French Basque country within easy reach of the UK. Ryanair currently operate flights from London Stansted and Manchester. EasyJet fly from London Gatwick. Note that most of these flights are seasonal, often starting in May and ending in September or October. Indirect flights are available with KLM and Air France but these will be considerably more expensive.

Local Transport

Bus

Bus service to Biarritz train station. The journey time is about 10 minutes. Bus to Bayonne train station. Journey time is about 30 minutes. Buses also serve Biarritz city centre, Bayonne city centre, Anglet beach and Bidart beach.

Direct buses to Hendaye on the border with Spain, via Biarritz train station, Bidart, Guéthary and St-Jean-de-Luz. Buses run from the airport and Biarritz city centre to San Sebastian and Pamplona in Spain.

Routes

Direct flights are with Easyjet and Ryanair. Most routes from the UK operate during the spring/summer season.
