Basel Airport (BSL)

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg is usually among the cheapest routes from the UK to Switzerland. The airport is just 5 miles from the historic centre of Basel, one of the most beautifully atmospheric cities in Switzerland. Basel Airport is also a useful gateway to the Vosges Mountains, the Black Forest and the delightful German city of Freiburg. The airport is of interest to skiers, although most ski holiday flights head for Geneva and Grenoble. This is a smart modern airport with a good choice of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

The most economical fares are usually with low-cost airline EasyJet. 2012 saw EasyJet operating routes from London Gatwick and Manchester. You will also find direct flights with British Airways and Swiss Airlines. These will be usually be considerably more expensive than flights with EasyJet. British Airways fly direct from Heathrow. Swiss fly direct from London City Airport.
