Ancona Airport is a convenient entry point for beach holiday resorts on the Adriatic coast of Italy stretching north towards Pesaro and south towards Pescara. There are excellent train connections with the city of Ancona, which is 20km from the airport. Ancona airport is also well placed for the fascinating Le Marche region of Italy, known for its museums, galleries, vineyards and fine food. This is a small regional airport with a few shops and a snack bar. Passing through arrivals and departures is fast and relaxed.
Recent years have seen economical direct flights with low-cost airline Ryanair. They currently operate year-round flights from London Stansted. There are daily departures during the summer holiday season.
You may find indirect flights from Heathrow, Manchester or Birmingham with airlines like Alitalia and Lufthansa. These will probably be considerably more expensive than flights with Ryanair.
